About Crosswire

Compare headlines across countries in a minimalist, side-by-side view

What is Crosswire?

Crosswire is an ultra-minimalist web application that allows you to compare digital media headlines and front pages across different countries. By displaying major news outlets side-by-side, you can quickly see how the same stories are covered differently around the world.

Features

  • • Compare news outlets from over 80 countries
  • • Multiple layout options: columns, rows, and three-column views
  • • Compact and relaxed viewing modes
  • • Interactive 3D globe for country selection
  • • Automatic country detection based on your location
  • • Mobile-optimized responsive design

How it Works

Crosswire uses a proxy system to load news websites while maintaining a consistent viewing experience. The application automatically detects your country based on your IP address and can redirect you to relevant local news sources, or you can manually select any country to explore.

Technology

Built with Next.js 15, React 19, and Tailwind CSS. Deployed on Cloudflare Pages with Edge Runtime for fast global performance. The 3D globe is powered by Three.js and WebGL.
